[This is my space to ramble and contradict myself and to sound more than a little bit crazy.]

Truth is largely the work of human hands.  Truth largely has little to do with us… it’s about things that are bigger than us and came before and after us.  [No contradiction is so  fundamental that it cannot be resolved with the right delusion].  Delusions are entirely the work of human hands.  Reason is everything that we have and will ever have.  Reason is nearly nothing… make us remember a few extra numerals and we pick the chocolate cake over the healthy snack every time.  We are flawed… mostly in our overimagination of ourselves: our competence, our potence, and our agency.   We are our own destiny and destination.

Do I really believe this?  No.  Yes.  Sometimes.  Would it make you feel better if I believe exactly what you want me to believe?  I do.  Yes, I do.  You are happy now.  But I fear you might be wrong–in fact, I’m pretty sure you’re wrong.  I know that you’re wrong because you choose the chocolate cake over the healthy snack every time too… because it’s chocolate… and it’s cake…  and the stories that you tell to justify that are no more or less delusional than mine.

Nothing I have to say here is true, except for the things that are… and to the extent that there is a difference.  So if truth [or what passes for truth] is what you say it is, then you had better say.  Say!

This site is extraordinary, challenging, sometimes disturbing, funny, articulate, intellectually provocative, and I think it should be much more widely read.

How do I follow you on my new account? Don’t see the “follow”?
